I have to say, the XDm just looks better. However, one thing that the Glock guys evidentally like is it's simple appearance. The xd is closer in size to the glock 19. It's a strange size, bigger than the 26 but smaller than the 19. The xd also has flush fitting 13 round mags. I've owned xd over the years but always go back to Glock. That being said, you can't go wrong for $400. Give it a try, if you don't like it, sell it and buy the glock.
