I haven’t had any internet connection through RCN since last night. I called their support line today and was told (after being run through several tests) that their service was actually down for the DC area and they have no time estimate for fixing it. Looking online, though, I can’t find any indication that this is a local/widespread issue. I have had Comcast, RCN, and Verizon. RCN is good because they are cheap and not Comcast or Verizon, but their reliability can be spotty. I have had several outages with RCN compared to one or two with Comcast and none with Verizon. Their customer service is also not the best and is pretty incompetent.
